The club holds many events throughout its season. Here is a list of what is scheduled to happen during the 2010/2011 season. As well as this, see the team pages for a whole host of fixtures.
The club runs an annual club trip where a minibus will run members to a day at a professional tournament, following 2009's trip to the British Open 2010's trip has yet to be arranged.
This is the first event of the season, and is held every year. It is a fun knockout tournament, with squash matches played for a solid twenty minutes. One player starts with a pre-determined handicap, and PAR scoring is then played. The person with the highest total at the end of each match wins and goes through to the next round.
This is an event that puts the club on the squash map - nationally ranked players compete at the club with a prize fund between the men's and women's of over £4000. Last year, Andy Whipp beat Shaun Le Roux 9-11, 11-2, 11-3, 14-12. In the women's event, Lincolnshire's Tania Bailey beat Kimberley Hay 11/1 11/7 11/4 in the final. More information can be found on the 'Boston Open' page.
There will be an internal teams tournament this winter, with matches held every Sunday evening.
There will be a squash doubles tournament on a weekend evening just before Christmas. Details are yet to be confirmed.
This is the club's main social event and fundraiser. To celebrate the New Year the club holds an annual do, with bouncy castles, a gladiators arena, buffet and disco. Last year the club sold all 150 tickets, which are available to members and non-members (as guests).
The club holds tournaments every season which are open to all members. These are the Buchner Open (the main tournament), Ladies', Juniors', Racketball, Men's Over 35s, Men's Over 45 and Men's Over 55s tournaments and plates for all that have enough numbers to warrent so. There is also a most improved player of the year award presented upon conclusion of the championships. After all this, a disco is held and the internal season at Boston SRC is declared over. For more information about the Club Championships, see the 'Club Championships' page. The 2011 Club Championships' dates have yet to be confirmed.
This attracts nationallly ranked and local juniors alike. For more, see the 'Boston Junior Open' page. The date for the 2011 tournament has yet to be confirmed.
This is an internal club tournament open to all members, where various teams of four play each other. Every individual match won earns the winner's team a point, and the team with the most points at the end of this traditional summer tournament wins. As the name indicates all matches are played on Sundays (in the evenings) and sandwiches and roast potatoes are provided afterwards.
