Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I'd like to check out the club to see if it's for me. How can I go about this?

A: You are more than welcome to visit the club to see what we have to offer and whether it might be for you. We recommend contacting us by email or phone to arrange a time to visit. If you don't make an appointment, weekday evenings are when someone will most likely be able to show you around.

Q: How can I get on court and give squash or racketball a try, without committing to membership?

A: You can pay a £5 a time guest fee to play as a non-member. This includes one court lights token
(one token keeps the court lights on for 20 minutes and additional tokens can be bought for £2.50 each from the club shop or behind the bar).

Contact us by email or phone and we'll make sure someone is on hand to collect your fee, provide your court light token(s) and get you on court! We can also provide rackets and balls if you're trying the sport out and don't have your own.

Q: I don't have a playing partner. How can I try squash or racketball out?

A: Our club steward Pete Andrews will join you on court if you don't have a playing partner lined up but would like to give squash or racketball a try. See our 'Contact' page to arrange a session. We can provide rackets and balls if you don't have your own. If the sport's for you and you join the club, you'll be able to join our all-ability box leagues.

Q: Can I book a court?

A: We don't run an advance booking system. With five courts, you can just turn up and play and it is very rare you'd have to wait for a court to become available. Simply turn up and place your membership or guest card (the latter will be given to you in return for a £5 guest fee) in the slots outside your chosen court to claim it.

Q: How can I join the club and pay for membership?

A: New members will need to pay for their first annual membership by cash or card at the club. There is also a monthly direct debit option, which again we can set up at the club. Membership renewals can be done online and members are contacted directly with these details.

Q: My child is interested in playing squash. How can they get started?

A: We would recommend they join our popular Saturday Squash junior coaching sessions. Our doors will be open, your child does not need to be a member and equipment is provided. Just make sure they have non-marking shoes please!

Q: Are your facilities open 24/7?

A: Members can access the facilities 24/7 using their member's key fob (for a one-off fee of £10). Guests are best off contacting us in advance to ensure they will be able to access the club when they are planning to visit (although weekday evenings are usually fine).
