Boston Squash and Racketball Club has received a major £14,000 upgrade as it bids to get more people in the borough picking up a racket.

The money has been spent on transforming the club’s changing rooms in an effort to provide more family-friendly sports facilities.

It follows the award of grant funding from Mick George Limited through the Mick George Community Fund.

The refurbishment comes just months after the club installed new floors on two of its glass-back courts.

They are the latest in a series of improvements since the club started up its schools coaching programme, which has resulted in hundreds of pupils in the town getting on court over the last two years.

But it has now completed its most visible upgrade yet to ensure it provides the best possible environment for juniors to learn the sport.

"The new changing rooms are absolutely fantastic,” said club steward Pete Andrews.

“First impressions count and this refurbishment will really help encourage people to come down and get playing squash and racketball.

“We’ve been working hard to get more community groups and families involved, and this will make the club an even better experience for them.”
