Cawston crowned club champion

15 year old Olly Cawston has become Boston's new squash champion after winning the annual Buchner Open at this year's Boston Squash and Racketball Club Championships.

The junior player beat defending champion Adam Hildred, who won the previous edition of the event before an enforced two-year break due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

In the over 35's final, Jake Fountain beat Tom Kemp 3-2 to secure his fifth consecutive title in that age category. Ady Proctor won the over 45's tournament, overcoming Dave Stones - who was himself victorious in the over 55's final against John MacPherson.

Zac Lowe is the new junior club champion, with Charlie Underhill the runner-up.

Jason Hadland, Mujeeb Pervez and William Hayward won the open, combined age group and junior squash plates respectively.

The club's squash championship finals followed on from the racketball championship finals two weeks ago.

Sam Booth regained the title of club racketball champion, beating 6x champion Ady Proctor to secure a fourth success of his own.

Hedley Muscroft won the over 35's racketball event for a fourth time, beating Jason Hadland in the final. Hedley was also victorious in the over 45's category for the first time, with Tim Booth finishing runner-up. Mujeeb Pervez is the new over 55's racketball champion after beating Ed Pickersgill.

Jason Hadland and Ed Pickersgill won the open and combined age group racketball plates respectively.

Congratulations to all the trophy winners, and thank you to everybody who took part in the earlier rounds as well as those who came down to support the finals nights. A special thanks to all who marked games as well!
